Tasting Notes: South Africa's signature variety, this Pinotage fruit was sourced from a single family vineyard in Oliver. A deep black currant aroma dusted with sagebrush, toasted nutmeg, and mesquite is echoed on the palate along with Mission fig and racy spice. Aging in American oak for 9 months has rounded its stylish tannins, playing off exotic flavours to produce an engaging finish.
Food Pairings: Great with venison and game. Awards: Best of Varietal

Gold Medal, North West Wine Summit 2010 Winemaking: Fruit was destemmed and highly macerated before being transferred to an outdoor fermentation tank. Inoculated with a yeast designed to showcase the true Pinotage characters. Post-fermentation, the batch was pressed lightly and transferred to American oak where malolactic fermentation occured. Aged for a total of 9 months in oak, this wine was then filtered into bottle. Aging Potential: Velvety in texture with a tannin depth that will allow this wine to age a further 5 years.
